Mary Ellen Porche

Mary Ellen Porche, 92, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at 3:30 a.m.

She is survived by sons, Jerry (Linda), Robert “Butch” (Emma Lee) and Leemie Porche Jr.; daughters, Elaine (Maurice) Thibodeaux; Jeannie (fiancé Larry) Lottinger and Ellen (fiancé Jay) Boudreaux; brother, Joseph Bergeron; sister, Una Mae Champagne; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband, Leonce Joseph Porche; parents, Joseph A. and Cecile Stevens Bergeron; and brother, Robert Bergeron.

Mrs. Porche was a parishioner of Maria Immacolata Church and a member of Catholic Daughters.

Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 6, from 6 to 9 p.m., and Monday, Dec. 7, from 8 a.m. until the service, at Maria Immacolata’s chapel.

The funeral will be held at the church Monday, beginning at 11 a.m. She will be buried in St. Frances de Sales Cemetery No. 2.
