Mary Dagate Guidry, 95, native of Tickfaw, La. and resident of Houma, La., died at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006.


Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass will be held at 11 a.m. at the church, with burial in Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was survived by one daughter, Elizabeth Betty Gardner of Montgomery, Texas; four grandchildren, Walter Dean Gardner, Mary Helen Gardner, Lawrence Gardner and Elizabeth Gardner Maddaford; five great-grandchildren, Joel Gardner, Keith Gardner, Katherine Gardner, Sarah Maddaford and Laura Maddaford; one daughter of her heart, Ethel Lacour; and numerous loving and caring nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie B. Guidry; her parents, Vincent Dagate and Frances Guerrera Dagate; one son-in-law, Walter D. Gardner; four brothers, Tony Dagate, Lawrence Dagate, Anthony “Nino” Dagate and John Dagate; two sisters, Josephine Catanese and Josepha LaRussa.

She was owner and operator of The Vogue. She was the past president of Young At Heart at St. Francis, member of the Ladies Alter Society, past member of Krewe of Hyacynthians and past member of the Chamber of Commerce.

She was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral.
