Mary Johnson, age 93, a native and a resident of Four Corners, La., died at 9:19 a.m. Monday, June 6, 2011.
Mrs. Johnson was loved by many of the staff at Belle Teche Nursing Home, who adopted her and affectionately called her “Maw Maw”.
She is survived by her sons, Leroy (Mary), Rivers Jr., Malvin (Debra), Otis (Shankrequlyn) and Anthony (Wanda) Johnson; daughters, Lucille (Dallas) Frances and Cynthia (Eric) Metz; sister, Celestine (Tarlton) Nico; brother, Wilford Lockette; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Laura Lockette; husband, Rivers Johnson Sr.; one sister; one brother; and one granddaughter.
Burial was at Sorrell Community Cemetery in Sorrell, La. (Jones)
