Mary Joyce Picard Champagne, 70, a native of Franklin, La., and resident of Charenton, La., died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011.

Mrs. Champagne was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W., and the Golden Age Club.


She is survived by her children, Don (Lisa), Gidget and Ricky Champagne and Connie (Burton) Broussard; brother, Rivers Picard; sister, Elizabeth Migues; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Champagne; parents, Ferdinand and Clevelia Picard; brothers, Raymond Sr. and Ray Sr. Picard; and sisters, May Comeaux, Florence Bourque and Hazel Ortez.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Ibert’s Mortuary with services to follow. Burial will be at Perpetual Park Cemetery. (Ibert’s)
