Mary Lee Babin Smith, 67, a native of Houma, La., and a resident of Stonewall, Ms., died in Oxford, Ms., Friday, October 31.


She is survived by to daughters, Mary Catherine Trahan White and husband Larry of Chauvin, La., and Angela Trahan of Baker, La.; two brothers, Leland Babin and wife Evelyn, and Lester Babin and wife Audrey; seven grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Agnes Babin and Mary Elaine Babin; one daughter-in-law, Mary Hille Trahan; and numerous relatives.


She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Tiny” Smith; her parents, Norris P. Babin and Ellen Picou Babin; one son, Daniel “Danny” Trahan Jr.; and two brothers, Delvin Babin Sr. and Dean Babin.

She was retired with 17 years of service from Honduras Elementary.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, November 7, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, at Samart Funeral Home of Houma. A religious service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Houma.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
