Maryann Marie Gisclair Griffin, 76, a native and resident of Cut Off, La., died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014.


Mrs. Griffin was president of the women’s department of Galliano Assembly of God, a teacher of Y’s, a Sunday school teacher at United Methodist Church and a member of Eastern Star. She enjoyed cooking and baking, knitting, crocheting, sewing, fishing, trawling, golfing, raising chickens and gardening. She loved her children and grandchildren very much.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Griffin; sons, Randy (Donna), Tony (Joy) and Andy (Rhonda) Griffin; daughters, Bonnie Griffin and Susan Cheramie; brothers, Sam Gisclair and Roy and Morris Guidry; sisters, Emelda Cheramie, Hattie St. Pierre, Dot Martin and Adele Curole; 11 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Soliska Gisclair; adoptive parents, Morris and Clara Guidry; brothers, Val and Larry Gisclair and Parrison Guidry; and sister, Melva Gisclair.


Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, at Christian Fellowship Church in Cut Off with services to follow. Burial will be at Cheramie Cemetery. (Falgout)
