Matilda White Amos, 68, a native and resident of Labadieville, La., died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011.
Mrs. Amos was a member of New Belmont Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Amos Sr.; son, Darnell (Ferlisha) Amos; daughters, Monice (Edward) Tannis and Cherrish Cooks; stepdaughters, Mary (Nolan) Smith and Angela (Martin) Stephens; stepson, Donald Amos Jr.; sister, Beatrice Clark; 21 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester Sr. and Matilda White; son, Elijah Cooks Jr.; daughter, Trinette Boatner; brothers, Lester White Jr. and Washington Sherman; and sisters, Lillian Docket and Florence Robinson.
Burial was at New Belmont Baptist Church Cemetery in Labadieville. (Kennedy)
