La. House panel OKs abolishment of insurance rating commission

Maurice P. Benoit, 70, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, May 14, 2007.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday at Thibodaux Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Marie “Sue” Benoit; three sons, Ben Benoit, Koby “Chico” Richard and Tyrone Richard; one daughter, Maria Richard Morvant; one brother, Charles Benoit; four sisters, Mary Hazel Joseph, Mary Lee Benoit, Mary Anne Benoit and Theresa Battaglia; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gaston Benoit Sr. and Olga Gauthe’ Benoit; and two brothers, Gaston Benoit Jr. and Robert Benoit.
He was a Lafourche Parish Deputy for more than 20 years.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
