Quilts auction to benefit local groups

Maybelle “Mitty” Dupre Songe, 65, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Bourg, La., died, Thursday, Nov. 9, 2006.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to funeral time Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral. Mass will be held at noon at the church, with burial in St. Ann Cemetery in Bourg.
Mrs. Songe is survived by her husband, Patrick “Floyd” Songe Sr.; three sons, Patrick Songe Jr. and wife, Cheryl, Eric Songe and wife, Kristi, and Ryan Songe and wife, Yvette; one daughter, Monica Chauvin and husband, Todd; one brother, Philip Dupre Jr. and wife, Sandra; five sisters, Bonabel Naquin, Phyllis Duval and husband, Loveless, Geraldine Thomassie and husband, Robert Sr., Margaret Neil and husband, Leland Sr., and Laura Armstrong and husband, John; five grandchildren, Victoria, Lauren and Alexis Songe, and Nicholas and Kaden Chauvin, and a sixth grandchild, Justin Songe, due in December.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip Sr. and Mable Duplantis Dupre; one step-brother, Reggie Dupre Sr., and an infant sister, Jo Ann Dupre.
She was a member of the St. Francis de Sales Cathedral Choir for more than 45 years, and she also loved gardening.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
