Maye Molaison Guillot, 80, a native of Avoca Island, La., and resident of St. Mary Parish, La., died Wednesday, March 20, 2013.


Mrs. Guillot was a member of the Berwick Methodist Church and then First Assembly of God. She trained her children and grandchildren in the importance of attending and participating in church regularly. Her faith in God defined her life. She was there when her children got home from school and lovingly prepared a hot meal every day. She enjoyed bottle hunting, visiting cemeteries, courthouses and researching genealogy.


She is survived by her son, Harlan Jr. (Barbara) Guillot; daughter, Nadine (William Jr.) Clark; husband, Reginald Guillot; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harlan Guillot Sr.; brothers, Ernest Molaison and Waddell Sr. and L.J. Thibodaux; and sister, Beatrice Stevens.

Visitation will be 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, March 22, and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 23, at Hargrave Funeral Home with services to follow. Interment will be at Berwick Mausoleum. (Hargrave)
