Melissa Delatte Elder, 48, a native and resident of Gheens, La., died Wednesday, February 25, at 2:23 a.m.
She is survived by her former husband, Walter Elder; companion, Russell “Kujo” Smith; mother, Rita Larousse Delatte; sons, Wesley Elder and Wade Elder; daughter, Wendy Elder; brothers, Douglas Delatte and Joe Delatte; sister, Belinda Rivet; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eurise Delatte.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, February 27, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Gheens with the funeral service to follow.
Falgout Funeral Home of Raceland, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
