La. House panel OKs abolishment of insurance rating commission

Melvin ” Big Male” Navarre, 61, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La. and resident of Houma, La., died Friday, May 11, 2007.
Visitation will be Wednesday at Community Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday at Residence Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until funeral time at 11 a.m. Burial will be at New St. Paul Baptist Church in Houma.
He is survived by his wife, Aramanty Beasley Navarre; his daughters, Schwanna Navarre-Johnson and husband, Bryant, and Shameka Navarre, both of Houma; his brothers, Frederick Navarre, Jr. of Sunnville, Ca., George Navarre and wife, Joan, Jim Navarre and wife, Deloris of Morgan City, La., Jerry, Marion Joseph and Gregory Navarre; his sisters, Anita Navarre of Houma; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eva Kenny and Frederick Navarre Sr.; his brothers, Larry and Frank Navarre II; and his grandparents, Lucy Thornberry Navarre, Frank Navarre, Susie Kenney, and Ben Kenney.
He was a baptist and a member of Residence Baptist Church.
He was a laborer for a constructin company and he enjoyed going to church.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
