Mercedes “Dorothy” Sanders, 74, a native of Labadieville, LA. and resident of Thibodaux, LA., died Wednesday, March 14, 2007.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at Community Funeral Home, with burial in Halfway Cemetery.
She is survived by five sons, Edward, Murl, Earl, Glenn and Darren; six daughters, Diane S. Jones, and Rosalin, Mildred, Linda, Brenda and Melinda Sanders; eight brothers, Oscar Jr., Alton, Lloyd, Lionel, Larry, Leroy, Richard and Ricky Burdis; one sister, Carol Burdis of Labadieville; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Sanders Sr.; her parents, Oscar Burdis Sr. and Beulah Burdis; one daughter, Udrell Sanders; two brothers, Tillman and Medrick; and one sister, Vedell Burdis.
She was a homemaker and a member of Belmont Baptist Church.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
