Michael Paul Hebert, 65, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Friday, Aug. 7, at 11:30 a.m.


He is survived by his wife, Janet Songe Hebert; one son, Justin Hebert; one brother, Ronald Hebert and wife Carolyn; four brothers-in-law, Roger Songe and wife Cindy, Elmore Songe Jr. and wife Margaret, Jerry Songe and wife Betty, and Robert Songe and wife Judy; six sisters-in-law, Judy Falgout and husband Wayne, Sherry Fortson and husband Eric, Cindy Babin and husband Mark, Sandra Benoit and husband Albert, Annette Brunet and husband Nolan, and Yvette Crittendon and husband Lynn; family friends, Rickey LeBouef and Pam Neibors; and his best friend and pet, Copper.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Rose Aucoin Hebert; mother and father-in-law, Elmore Sr. and Rose Fonseca Songe; one brother-in-law, Curtis Morvant Jr.; and one nephew, Chad Brunet.

He was a self-employed welder.

In lieu of flowers, donations for the funeral service would be appreciated.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, at Samart Funeral Home in Houma with the funeral service to follow.

Samart Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
