Michael Stott, 72, a native of Thibodaux, La., died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, at Ben Atchley State Veterans Home in Knoxville, Tenn. after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Mr. Stott was a retired U.S Navy Chief Warrant Officer who worked as a salvage diving officer. He continued his diving career at Santa Fe International in Houma, La., and later joined the family business. Most recently he lived in Tellico Village in Loudon, Tenn., where he enjoyed working as a volunteer with the National Park Service in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.


He is survived by his wife, Joanna Carnesi Stott; daughter, Tammy Stott Domgaard; grandchildren, Courtney and Curtis Taniguchi; and one brother, Paul Stott.
