Mildred “Mickie” Theresa Naquin Filardo, 70, a native of Montegut, LA. and resident of Houma, LA., died at 10:50 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2007.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Bernadette Catholic Church. Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church, with burial at St. Francis de Sales Cemetery No. 2.


She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Filardo Sr. of Houma; her mother, Emma Fanguy Naquin of Montegut; two sons, Ken Filardo Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Calhoun, LA. and Jonathan Filardo and wife, Jenny, of Sugarland, Texas; one daughter, Joni Green and husband, Mark, of Houma; two brothers, Russell Naquin of Montegut and Glenn Naquin of Houma; one sister, Beverly Pennison of Houma; and four grandchildren, Jamie Jarboe, Ashley Filardo, Sam Filardo and Leo Filardo.

She was preceded in death by her father, Frank Naquin; and one grandson, Brandon Filardo.

She was a retired teacher with the Terrebonne Parish school system for 15 years. She was a past member of the Women’s Aglow, past member of Desk and Derrick Club, member of the Louisiana Teachers Association, initial recepient of the Cancer Survival Award. She was a notary public and had a degree in government.

She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic School.
