Minous DeHart, 79, a native of Bayou Dularge, La., and longtime resident of Berwick, La., died Friday, Dec. 17, 2010.


After 34 years of service as a surveyor for Shell Oil, he retired to spend additional time with his family and enjoy his hobbies. He fished, shrimped, and trapped nutria. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran who served his country in the Korean Conflict. He loved his family without limits.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Francis DeHart; sons, Randy (Charlene) DeHart, and Terry (Denise) and Timmy (Debbie) Gaspar; daughters, Janet (J.D.) Houghton, Ruthie (Jerry) Comeaux, Carol Jean (Greg Sr.) Leger, and Susan (Glenn) Adams; sister, Marianne Fabre; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge and Sarah DeHart; and three brothers, Elton, Jerry, and David DeHart.

He is buried at Morgan City Cemetery.
