Montgomery “Monte” Lee Preston, 57, a native of Warrensburg, Mo., and resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at 12:35 p.m.


He is survived by his wife, Sarah “Sallie” Marie LePeze Preston; two daughters, Bridget Kelly Preston and Brittany-Kay Preston Martinez; his grandmother, Mildred S. Bancroft; four brothers, Kevin Lee Preston, Robin Lee Preston, Gregory Mitchell Preston, and Stacy Shane Preston; one sister, Jayme Gayle Taylor; five grandchildren, Whitney Marie Chauvin, Logan Roger Canull, Sarah Jo Beth Canull, Abigail Marie Martinez and Andres Miguel Martinez; and his beloved pet, Max.


He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lee Preston and Mary L. Bancroft Preston; one grandchild, Bethany Vale Chauvin; and his grandparents, John Bancroft, Oscar Lee and Nellie Pearl Preston.

Montgomery was owner/operator of Preston Trucking Co. and a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma, La.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
