Morris J. “Ned” Martin, 86, a native of Plattenville, La., and a resident of Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Napoleonville, La., died Thursday, July 16.


He is survived by his wife, Gladys B. Martin of Napoleonville; one son, Phillip and wife Barbara Martin of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Rosa and Maurice Martin; and one son, Sylvester Martin.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired employee of the Louisiana State Highway Department.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, July 24, at St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church in Napoleonville with mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville is in charge of the arrangements.
