Morris “Moe” Tabor, 60, a native of Thibodaux, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Monday, Feb. 18, at 8:09 a.m.


He is survived by his wife, Judy Tabor; one son, Cory Tabor and wife, Molly; one daughter, Tabitha Dearmond and husband, Daniel; two brothers, Sam and Norris Tabor; one sister, Dorothy Trosclair; and three grandchildren, Lauren, Jillian and Aaron Dearmond.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alidore and Inez Boudreaux Tabor; and one brother, Harry Tabor.


He was a 3rd Master Mason, 32 Scottish Rite Mason, 32 Royal Arch Mason, past High Priest Brasher Chapter No. 82, past Illustrious Master Houma Council No. 44, Perpetual member and P.M. Unity 267, Perpetual member Terrebonne Fellowship 481 and Perpetual member Walter Lanier 307. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from Cameron Iron Works.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Unity Lodge No. 267 Dyslexia Center.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Unity Lodge No. 267 F & AM on Bayou Black Drive in Houma with a military service at 2:30 p.m. and a memorial service 4 p.m.

Samart Funeral Home of Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
