Mr. Clarence “Connie” Jones, 74, a native and resident of Raceland, La., died Monday, Nov. 2, 2009.
He is survived by his wife Bridget Jones; son, Roland Johnson; foster son, Ja’Qwaillian Brooks; step-daughters, Brittany (Jonathan) Davis, Delishia Paul and Jelesia Wyatt; brother, Rev. Charles (Rose) Jones; and two step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Viola Jones; and sisters, Thelma Smith and Sue Jones Felix.
He served on the Deacon Board at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He was also a U.S. Army veteran whose hobbies included lawn service.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Raceland with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Morning Star Baptist Church Cemetery in Raceland.
Kennedy Funeral Home in Raceland is in charge of the arrangements.
