Mr. Roger J. Eymard Sr., 78, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Galliano, La., died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at 7:57 a.m.
He is survived by his wife, Laurina Angelette Eymard; son, Roger Eymard Jr.; daughters, Becky Eymard, Deborah (Kearn Jr.) Chouest, Denise (David) Turknett and Mary (Ted Sr.) Hudspeth; brothers, Hilton, Junius, Norris, Jervis, Robert and Aubrey Eymard; sisters, Kate Ledet, Janis Bland and Gail Gisclair; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emar and Natavita Eymard; brother, Collin Eymard; and sisters, Irene Lefort and Bernice Eymard.
He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano. He was a honorary member of the Holy Name Society, and the Green Head Club. He loved fishing, trawling with his brothers, music and people.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13 and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial at the church cemetery.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
