Mr. Ronald Lee Blum, 73, a native of Marshall, Mo., and a resident of Thibodaux, La., died Friday, Nov. 13, 2009 at 8 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Eleonore Stark Blum; sons, Butch and Robert (Anita) Blum; daughter, Caroline (Fred Jr.) Hebert; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Vaunciel Fowler Blum.
He was a retired Master Sergeant for the U.S. Army with 22 years of service. He was awarded four Bronze Stars, two Purple Hearts and numerous other medals while serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his military service, he worked for Winn Dixie for 20 years. Later he enjoyed working part time at L&N Food Store, bowling and celebrating Oktoberfest with his family.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to local veterans’ associations and the Humane Society.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Thibodaux Funeral Home’s Chapel with the funeral service to follow.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
