November 2, 2009Mr. Silas Simon Pellegrin Sr., 71 a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Chauvin, La., died Thursday, Oct. 29.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Fanguy Pellegrin; son, Silas (Pamela) Pellegrin Jr.; daughters, Cindy Pellegrin Stoufflet and Sandra (Kenny) Savoie; brothers, Steven (Berthamae) and Ronald Pellegrin; sister, Gloria (Milton) Babin; stepbrother, Edward “T-Ed” Adams; stepsister, Vivian Adams Prejean; five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Sy Pellegrin; mother, Edia Neil Pellegrin Adams; stepfather, Edward Adams; sister, Betty Pellegrin; half brother, Gelpi Pellegrin; stepbrothers, Milton and Norman Adams; and son-in-law, Bobby Stoufflet.
He was Catholic and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was employed for 55 years at LeBoeuf Brothers Towing Company and was a tug boat captain.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
