Mrs. Douglas “Bobbie” Keller, 83, passed away peacefully Sunday, April 12.

Bobbie, a resident of Lafayette, La., and formerly of Houma, La., was born July 29th, 1925 in Ocilla, Ga., to Joseph Bryant and Ruby Paulk Bryant Spell. Bobbie was married to the late Douglas A. Keller, DDS. Bobbie lived in Houma until moving to Lafayette seven years ago.


She is survived by her son, Douglas R. Keller and wife Gloria of Lafayette; daughter, Margaret Keller Broussard and husband Emile of Abbeville, La.; grandchildren, Courtney Keller Cline and husband Parrish, Caroline Broussard and Andrew Broussard; and great-grandchildren, Rowan Keller Cline and Adriana Michel Cline.


She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas A. Keller, DDS; son, David G. Keller, DDS; and sister, Jimmy Holland Slaughter.

While raising her family in Houma, Bobbie was active in Hyacinthians Ladies Carnival Club, her homemaker’s club, and St. Francis de Sales Church Parish. Bobbie enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family, friends and neighborhood coffee group.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations in Bobbie’s memory may be made to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston Street, Suite 200, Lafayette, Louisiana 70503.

Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 17, at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral in Houma with Mass of Christian Burial to follow.

Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
