Mrs. Leontine (Tina) Harris, 77, a native of New Orleans, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, Oct. 14.


She is survived by two sons, Don and Harold Harris; two daughters, Deborah Harding and Renee Harris; five sisters, Anna Palms, Dorothy Washington, Leona Phillips, Irma Brown and Joyce Thompson; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Harris Sr.; parents, Leola and George Williams; adoptive parents, Frank and Mary South; one son, Freddie Harris Jr.; two granddaughters, Katrina Harris and Latonia Hardin; one grandson, Dequantum Harris; two brothers, Thomas Morgan and Johnell Williams; one foster sister, Dorothy Russell; and grandparents, John and Rebecca Faulk.

She was Baptist and a member of First Corinthian Baptist Church. She was retired from the Terrebonne Parish School Board & TARC as a teacher’s aid and a foster grandparent with St. Lucy Day Care.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, at Community Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at First Corinthian Baptist Church with burial at Dewyville Cemetery.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
