Ms. Rita Walterine Parfait Verdin, 72, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Ernest) Pierre and Darlene (Gerald Sr.) Naquin; sons, Paul Jr. (Gracie), Perry (Dianna) and Richard Verdin; sisters, Marie Verdin, Ernestine (Kirvin) Parfait, Josephine Billiot, Annie Mae Parfait and Sarah Foret; brothers, Linus, Varnis (Joyce), Cyrus (Mildred) and John (Jean) Parfait; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was a homemaker and a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. She was a Saints fan who enjoyed sewing and embroidering. She loved all her grandchildren.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the church with burial at the church cemetery.
Chauvin Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
