Munson Joseph Toups Jr., 75, a native and resident of Choupic, La., died Thursday, May 8, 2014.
Mr. Toups was a U.S. Army veteran, proud paratrooper of the 82nd Airborne Division and an honorary rock of the 1st Airborne Battle Group of the 503rd Infantry. He was an avid hunter and sportsman who enjoyed every opportunity to be outdoors.
He is survived by his former wife and caregiver, Joyce Toups; daughter, Kyla (Troy) Clement; siblings, Janet Falcon, Donald (Betty) Toups and Sandra (Bobby) Hebert; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Munson Sr. and Gladys Toups; nephew, Ferrel Percle; and sisters, Jane Tabor and Loretta Granier.
Visitation will be 8 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday May 13, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Thibodaux, La., with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Thibodaux)
