Murville Joseph Pitre, 82, a native of Assumption Parish, La., and a resident of Chackbay, La., died Wednesday, June 24, at 8:20 a.m.
He is survived by his sons, Preston Pitre and Timothy Pitre; daughters, Maedain Roger, Regina Kliebert, Karen Sanchez and Cecile Chiasson; brother, Leander Pitre; sister, Marie Andras; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Florence Barrilleaux; second wife, Clodine Templet Pitre; parents, Edgard Pitre and Rita Gros Pitre; sons, Anthony Pitre and Phillip Pitre; daughter, Nona Pitre Hidalgo; brothers, Joe Pitre, John Pitre, Morris Pitre and Edgar Pitre; and sisters, Lucille Hofman, Odela Benoit and Mable Bonvillain.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday, June 27, at Thibodaux Funeral Home with mass to follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Church in Chackbay. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
