Luncheon to recognize area’s foster parents; More adults needed to provide homes to youths

Nettie Rita Bergeron Duplantis, 74, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La. and resident of Chauvin, La., died at 9:50 p.m. Thursday, May 10, 2007.


Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Monday at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.


She is survived by five daughters, Jennifer Belle and husband, John, of Chauvin, Phyllis Levron and husband, Rene, of Bayou Blue, La., Michelle Blanchard and husband, Michael, of Chauvin, Peggy Duplantis of Houma, La., and Susie Duplantis and fiancé, Kirby Peabody, of Prairieville, La.; five grandchildren, David Robichaux and wife, Brandi Talbot, Jason Blanchard, Jaime Blanchard and fiancé, Patrick Giroir, Hayes Garrett and Kade Levron; and four great-grandchildren, Kylie and Kollin Robichaux, Seth Robin and Brandt Giroir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delvin “Dickie” Duplantis; her parents, Enos Bergeron and Mabel Eschete Bergeron; two brothers, Philip “Philo” Bergeron and Chuck Enis Bergeron; and one sister, Eta Woods.

She was a retired clerk with Wolfe’s Pharmacy with more than 42 years of service and a member of the Ladies Altar Society.

She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
