Newton Edward Boudreaux, 88, a native of Thibodaux, La., and resident of Orinda, Calif., died peacefully of natural causes Thursday, September 13, 2007.


He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Bess; two sons, Gary and his wife Lucia, Gregory and his wife Rose; three step-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Alana, and Renee and her husband Bill; five grandchildren, Christina, Gerianne, Mark, Matt, and Nick; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Lucina Boudreaux; one daughter, Patricia; and 11 brothers and sisters.


After Newton’s graduation from Thibodaux College, he traveled west to California during World War II, working at the aircraft factory where he met his beloved wife. After the war, he began his career with the WearEver division of Alcoa, where he quickly became a top sales manager of the firm. He led national annual sales on numerous occasions and was a recognized educator and motivational speaker within the division. After his retirement in 1977, he devoted his time to selling real estate, managing his investments and traveling with his wife.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, September 29, 2007, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.

Landry’s Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
