Nolan J. Guidry, 82, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Galliano, La., died Tuesday, March 3, at 6:42 p.m.


He is survived by his daughters, Brenda Bernard and husband Ray C., Dianna Allemand and husband Haze, Jan Arabie and husband Monte, and Tammy Messer and husband Ricky; brother, Melvin Guidry; sister, Georgette Guidroz; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Anselmi Guidry; parents, Charles and Clemence Terrebonne Guidry; brothers, Ludovic, Leno, C.J. and Stanley Guidry; and one step-great-grandchild.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion Post 259, VFW, 4th Knights of Columbus and 40 & 8. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano where he was an usher. He also belonged to the St. Joseph Holy Name Society. He loved his family, cooking and dancing.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano. Mass will be at 12 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano with burial at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery in Golden Meadow.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
