Norman Vincent Leonard, 89, a native of Bayou Black, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, January 30, 2008, at 9:30 a.m.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Melancon Leonard of Houma; sons, Ellis V. Leonard and wife, Betty, and Dale Leonard and wife, Connie, of Houma; daughter, Rochelle Rhodes of Houma; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis S. Leonard and Mary Trahan Leonard; son-in-law, Charles “Buddy” Rhodes; brothers, Easton Leonard and Harry Leonard; and sisters, Lorraine Pellegrin, Rosella Malone and Eva Bennett.
Norman was a retired truck driver for 42 years with Texaco and a member of the American Legion and VFW. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
He was buried in the Holy Rosary Catholic Church cemetery.
