Nuel Nicholas Benoit Jr., 69, a native and resident of Houma, La., died Wednesday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda Crochet Benoit of Houma; two sons, Steve Benoit Sr. and wife Nanette H. Benoit of Houston, Texas, and Keith and wife Rhonda Benoit of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one daughter, Kim Benoit Ellender and husband Albert of Houma; one brother, Chris Benoit Sr. of Houma; three sisters, Elise Bienvenu of Houma, Pat Baio of Houston and Cassandra Ledet of Houma; and six grandchildren, Steven Benoit Jr., Ashley Benoit, Ryan Ellender, Natalie Ellender, Kristen Ellender and Jacob Ellender.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nuel N. Benoit Sr. and Elise Kaul Benoit; and two sisters, Dorothy Bergeron and Yolanda Thibodaux.
He was a loving husband, a caring dedicated father, parent and friend to all. He cherished all of his grandchildren. He was a devout Catholic and an usher for Marie Immacolata Catholic Church. He was a member of the Ellendale Country Club and a very loyal Saints fan. We will miss him forever.
Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at Marie Immacolata Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery No. 2.
Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
