July 11, 2011Ola Maxine Perkins, 71, a native of Georgia and resident of Amelia, La., died Thursday, June 30, 2011.
Mrs. Perkins was a devoted caring wife, mother and grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her and was never a stranger to anyone. She had a very deep love for her Lord and Savior Jesus which overflowed to her family and friends. In turn she was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John Perkins Jr.; son, John (Jamie) Perkins; daughters: Lisa (Darrel) Porche and Phaedra (Jeremy) Stockstill; brother, John Rowland Jr.; sister, Mary Merrit; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Tiny Rowland; brothers, Bunyion and Wilburn Rowland; and sisters, Garcie Archibell and Maebelle Meadows.
Burial was at St. Andrew Catholic Cemetery in Amelia. (Twin City)
