Onezippe “Zip” Guidry, 89, a native of Raceland, La. and a resident of Galliano, La. died Monday October 15, 2007, at 8:50 p.m.


He is survived by his three sons, Malco, Jimmy, and Joey Guidry; one daughter, Jeanette Brunet; 18 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Hebert Guidry; his parents, Joseph and Estelle Bourgeois Guidry; two daughters, Anna Lou Cavalier and Judy Jambon; two brothers, Avery and Camille Guidry; and two sisters, Clemillia Dufrene and Madellia Estay.

Onezippe was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano. He retired from Texaco after 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Visitation is Wednesday, October 17, 2007, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 18, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at Falgout Funeral Home in Galliano, with the funeral to follow at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galliano. He will be buried in Cheramie Cemetery in Galliano.

Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
