June 27, 2013Oscar Joseph Savoie Jr., 60, a native of Mathews, La., and resident of Des Allemands, La., died Saturday, June 22, 2013.
Mr. Savoie retired from Monsanto after 30 years of service. He was very involved at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Des Allemands where he taught religion classes and was a member of numerous church committees. He loved reading and traveling with his family. He was an avid LSU sports fan.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Savoie; son, Rhett Savoie; daughter, Randi Savoie; and mother, Pearl Arceneaux.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar Savoie Sr.; and brother, Ted Savoie
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, June 27, at St. Gertrude Catholic Church in Des Allemands with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment will be at the church cemetery. (Thibodaux)
