Corps of Engineers wins flood fight during Gustav

Patty Mancuso Pittman, 53, a native of Metairie, La., and a resident of Dularge, La., died at 8:50 a.m. Saturday, September 6.
She is survived by her mother, Bonnie Ray Champagne; her stepfather, Willard Champagne; one brother, Dominick Mancuso Jr. and wife Kay; her godchild, Angela Silvestri; and four nephews; Nick, Colin and Aaron Mancuso and Anthony Silvestri.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dominick Mancuso Sr.; her grandparents, Sidney and Eva Bellisle Boudreaux; and one sister, Kelley Silvestri.
She was a very giving person and was loved by many and will be missed.
She was buried at Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery.
Samart Funeral Home of Houma, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
