BP spill takes a toll down the bayou

July 12, 2010Pearl Peltier Thibodeaux Gros, 95, a native of Chackbay, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Monday, July 5, 2010.
She is survived by her daughters, Virgie Lee Thibodeaux Adams and Ruby Thibodeaux Terracina; stepchild, Lois Gros Jacobi; siblings, Nettie Peltier Tucker, Florence, Edward and Madeleine Peltier, Anna Mae Peltier Nixon, Joseph C. “JC” Peltier and Enola Peltier DeGruy; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; 25 step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin Thibodeaux; second husband, Avie Gros; three stepchildren, Leroy, Neil and Elmo Gros; and seven siblings, Ethel Peltier Adams, Howard, Valley, Emmett Louis, Ernest and Darrell Peltier and Lillian Peltier Perque.
She is buried at St. Joseph Cemetery in Thibodaux.
