Peggy Pierce Guidry, 74, a native of Cut Off, La., and a resident of Larose, La., died at 4:26 p.m. Sunday, January 4.


She is survived by six sons, Marlon Guidry and wife Jayne, Troy Guidry and wife Kim, Jake Guidry Jr. and wife Debra, Clint Guidry and wife Sandra, Tab Guidry and wife Carolyn, and Kent Guidry and wife Deina; three daughters, Lettie Griffin and husband Wallace Sr., Sandy Viator and husband Todd, and Tanya Guidry and Joey Tivet; one brother, Webster Pierce Jr.; two sisters, Rose Mary Adams and Mary Ann Loupe; her grandchildren, Melinda Dantin, Ben Guidry, Rachelle Guidry, Dirk Guidry, Melissa Guidry, Patrice Guidry, Simone Guidry, Wally Griffin Jr., Kira Verdin, Faith Guidry, Tabitha Ledet, Jake Guidry III, Christina Guidry, Ross Guidry, Amanda Guidry, Joshua Guidry, Bailey Guidry, Jeryet Bourg, Keydee Millet and Keenan Millet Jr.; and her great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Baudoin, Makenzie Baudoin, Addie Guidry, Payton Anselmi, T. Jay Verdin, Meggie Baudoin, Raven Baudoin, Kayne Baudoin and Alex Guidry.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Guidry Sr.; and her parents, Webster Sr. and Odaia Cheramie Pierce.

She was a nurse at Our Lady of the Sea Hospital for 35 years and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, serving as Eucharist Minister. She was a member of the Ladies Altar Society and was a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed raising kids, visiting, traveling, talking, eating and meeting new people.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Larose with mass to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
