Fletcher receives disaster expansion funds

Perry Dale Cheramie, 62, a native of Morgan City, La., and resident of Des Allemands, La., died Friday, Aug. 19, 2011.
Mr. Cheramie loved tug boats and worked on the waters of Louisiana as a boat captain and a tanker man until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors, was a super Saints fan and was very much a family man who loved his family.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Cheramie; daughters, Sarah, Heather, Krista Lynn, Carrie Ann and Michelle; sons, Dale and Kristopher; brother, Tommie Cheramie; sisters, Betty Hyde, Beverly Burleigh, Attecia Alston and Darlene Harvey; and many grandchildren, nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roosevelt and Eunice Cheramie; and brothers, Rocky and Joe Cheramie.
Burial was at Morgan City Cemetery. (Hargrave)
