Ralph “R.J.” Washington, 68, a native and resident of Napoleonville, La., died at his home Thursday, February 12.


He is survived by his wife, Jane Morris Washington; daughters, Claudette Skidmore and husband Kurt, and Angela M. Smith of Napoleonville; sons, Clyde Washington of Raceland, La., Patrick Washington and wife Kimberly of Baton Rouge, La., Vincent Washington of San Diego, Ca., and Terry Ausama and wife Stephanie of Houma, La.; brother, George Jones of Gray, La.; 36 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives.


He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mabel Washington.

He was a retired deputy with the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Thursday, February 19, at Williams and Southall Funeral Home in Napoleonville and 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, February 20, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Napoleonville. A religious service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial at Woodlawn United Methodist Cemetery in Napoleonville.

Williams and Southall Funeral Home of Napoleonville is in charge of the arrangements.
