Master Captain Randall David Vargas, 54, a native of Brooklyn, New York, and a resident of Golden Meadow, La., died Saturday, July 28, 2007.


He is survived by his wife, Martha Holley Vargas; his father, James Francis Vargas, Jr.; one son, Johnathan Vargas and his companion Robin Firmin; one daughter, Landora Musco and her husband Michael; two brothers, James Francis and Roger Vargas; three sisters, Judith Vargas, Robin Jenkins, and Karen George; six grandchildren, Samantha Hyvarinen, Kaitlyn Orr, Michaela Musco, Michael Musco, Jr., John-Marc Vargas, and Phoebe Adams Vargas; two brothers-in-law, Dr. Phillip Lucky and his wife Jessie and Van Lee and his wife Ellen Vargas; one sister-in-law, Janice Rogers; and life long friends, James, Jamie, and Daniel Griffin, and B.O. Billiot.


He was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Parker Vargas; his wife parents, Martin Van Buren and Landora Elizabeth Holley.

Randall served is country as a United States Marine during the Vietnam War and he was a Master Captain for Jambon Boat Rental.

Visitation is Saturday, August 4, 2007, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with the funeral to follow at Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off.

In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made to State Bank in Randall Vargas’ name.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home in Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
