Randy A. Doucet Sr., 56, a native of Thibodaux, La., and resident of Cut Off, La., died Saturday, April 30, 2011.


Mr. Doucet was a football player, also known as the “best of the best” from 1971-1972. As an MVP he helped bring South Lafourche to the State Championship in 1971. He bred ABDA pitbulls and belonged to the Louisiana Cajun Canine Club. He was an avid pitbull breeder and raiser. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who lived for his pride and joy, his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.


He is survived by his wife, Linda Gail Allemand Doucet; son, Randy “T-Ran” (Ainur) Doucet Jr.; daughters, Michelle Griffin, Erica (Scott) Theriot and Marcy Doucet; four grandchildren, Audie Pitre, Claire Griffin, Maddox Doucet and Carson Theriot; brother, Jimmy (Louella) Doucet Jr.; sisters, Monita (Glenn) Gisclair and Linda (Shannon Sr.) Doucet; parents-in-law, Earline and Amos “T-Boy” Allemand; sister-in-law, Annette (Dale) Terrebonne; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Sr. and Emildred Chouest Doucet; grandparents, Eulalie and Evest Chouest, and Edville and Sedonia Doucet; one brother, Mark Anthony Doucet; two brothers-in-law, Eddie and Riley Allemand; and one niece, Angela Doucet.

He is buried at Cheramie Cemetery. (Samart-Mothe)
