Ransom “Buck” Carter, 94, a native of Leonard, Texas, and resident of Chackbay, LA., died at 3:20 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, 2007.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Thibodaux Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. to funeral time Friday at First Baptist Church of Thibodaux. Religious service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with burial in House of Prayer United Pentecostal Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Therese Chiasson Carter; one son, Alvin Carter; three daughters, Ruby Evans, Darlene Carter and Melanie Rahdarian; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ransom Carter and Ruby Coats Carter; one son, Roscoe Carter; and two daughters, Gail Carter and Theresa Weinning.
