Ray “Bezoo” Joseph Falgoust, 77, a native and resident of Vacherie, La., died Monday, April 28, at 7:10 a.m.


He is survived by his wife, Lucy Mae Becnel Falgoust; his mother, Inez Dempster Falgoust; sons, Albert P. Falgoust, Bernard Falgoust, Rickie A. Falgoust and Jesse R. Falgoust; daughter, Lydia F. Ledet; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his father, Numa Albert Falgoust; his foster parents, Rupert and Nanette Becnel; brother, Guy J. Falgoust; and sister, Bertha F. Cortez.

He was a retired pipe fitter at Avondale Shipyards for 44 years and former owner of Falgoust’s Grocery Store and Bar (Rips Store).

He was buried at Our Lady of the Peace Catholic Church Cemetery in Vacherie.

Thibodaux Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
