‘N-word’ put to rest in Terrebonne Parish

Raymond “T-Kye” Martin, 72, a native and resident of Chauvin, La., died of cancer Tuesday, August 6, 2007, at 12:40 p.m.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores Pinell Martin; one son, Ricardo “Ricky” Martin and his wife Donna; one daughter, Raymonde Naquin and her husband Dean; four sisters, Mrs. Frank “Juanita” Folse, Mrs. Ray “Charlene” Picou, Mrs. Kenneth “Susan” LeBlanc, and Mrs. Glynn “Phyllis” Lapeyrouse; two granddaughters, Mitzi and Brittney Naquin; and numerous nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Beulah Duplantis Martin; and one niece, Wanda Folse.

Raymond was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. He was a retired school bus driver with the Terrebonne Parish School Board. His greatest love was his family and friends. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. He will be missed each and everyday.

Visitation is Thursday, August 9, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin. He will be buried in the church cemetery.
