Richard Joseph “Dick” Lampton Sr., 88, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Houma, La., died on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2011.

Mr. Lampton was a Jesuit graduate who proudly served his country as a US Navy pilot in WWII and worked as a head pilot for Texaco. He enjoyed retirement by playing golf and building radio controlled model aircrafts and was an avid sports fan. He was a parishioner of St. Anthony Church.


He is survived by his wife, Deanne; sister, Patricia Lampton; brother, Albert Lampton; sons, Richard Jr. (Karen) and Dale Lampton; stepsons, Dr. Maurice “Reese” (Denise) and Barry (Vickie) Benoit; stepdaughter, Deanne Benoit-Webb; three grandchildren, Bonnie Jean Lampton, Margaret (Damien) Kimble and Douglas Lampton; four great-grandchildren, D.J. Lejeune, Samantha Schmidt, Luke Kimble and Dylan Gridinich; and six step-grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew Webb, Dylan, Blake and Hannah Benoit and Justin Johnson.


He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy Young Lampton; and his parents, Loraine and Delia Derbes Lampton.

He is buried at Saint Francis de Sales Cemetery No.2.
