Richard N. Bollinger, 85, a native and resident of Lockport, La., died at 7:58 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012.
Mr. Bollinger was President Emeritus of Bollinger Shipyard. He was a lifetime member of the Lion’s Club, SNAME, ASNE, a board member of the Lafourche Parish Water District, past Alderman of Lockport and the Propeller Club Man of the Year.
He is survived by his children, Roberta (Lawrence III) Dickerson, Julienne Bollinger, Mary (Timothy) Closs, Aimee (Robert) Latas; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice Bollinger; parents, George and Etienette Bollinger; son, Richard Bollinger Jr.; brothers, Ralph, Donald, and George Bollinger; and sisters, Georgia Boyd, Mabel Toups and Belle Holekamp.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at Falgout Funeral Home in Lockport and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at Holy Savior Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Interment will be at the church cemetery. (Falgout)
