Richard “Rich” Gierlinski, Jr., 55, a native of Raceland, La., and a resident of Lockport, La., died Friday, Feb. 15 at 1:30 a.m.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Gierlinski; father, Richard Gierlinski, Sr.; mother, Mildred Dufrene; daughter, Lindsey Gierlinski; brother, Jerrery “Jeff” Gierlinski; and sisters, Jeannie Williams and Lena Vega.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Joseph and Augustine Dies and Stafan and Maria Gierlinski.
He was a member of the Hurricane Levee Band to save the wetlands. He enjoyed motorcycling, music and computers and was employed at Bollinger Shipyard. He was a Catholic.
He will receive a private graveside service.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Homes is in charge of the arrangements.
